As most of you know, I have not been released to go back to work yet {ya know... ever since the brain surgery}. So, I wanted to tell you what I've been up to here at the homestead.
Remember when I told you I have nowhere to wear my new clothes, well we took care of that this weekend. I actually bathed, fixed the hair, and wore REAL clothes :) And, it felt good!
Well, that fun came to an end with the Mr. went back to work on Monday. I still CAN'T drive, so I'm pretty much stuck in the house. I decided that I needed to get busy making my winter literacy centers for my kiddos. I may not be physically at work, but I still want don't want my class to miss out on ANYTHING! So, I got to work and started laminating like crazy...
PTL for personal laminators!
Then, I cut cut cut cut until my little hands could cut no longer.
Now, my Polar Pals Literacy Centers are all ready to go! I'm sending them to the school ASAP!
You can get these wintry centers on TpT {HERE}
And, since I love you guys so much, I have 2 FREE winter math centers for you! You can click on the pics to download :)
I hope you have gotten off to a great start after the break! I know I sure do miss being in the classroom, but am thankful for the time I have off to recover!

Thanks so much for the freebies Amy! I just love all of your centers. Off to go add more things to my TPT cart!
Thanks for sharing these! I have that exact laminator! I don't know what I would do without it. (especially we have a very stingy limit on laminating at work)

This looks awesome Amy. Your kiddos are lucky to have you...even when you're not there! We just finished our final drafts and did your winter friends craft today. They turned out sooo darn cute and the kids worked so hard on their writing and had a blast making their people! I will post pics on my blog soon.

Thanks for the freebies! I'm glad you're getting to get out and about for a bit- I imagine the rest is good for you, but it's probably hard not to be a little stir-crazy.
So glad that (at least for now) you seem to be blessed with great health following brain surgery. It's a beautiful thing :)

Holly... I go back to the doctor next week, but it's not to get cleared! Not a clue how long I'll be out!
I think I just died and went to heaven seeing that personal laminator! That is going to have to be my next purchase...there is nothing worse than creating and printing and having to wait until the next day to laminate! Love the freebies and pray you get back to work soon!

What great freebies - and I am practically salivating with envy over your personal laminator. It's at the top of my wishlist for teacher things

Your centers are adorable! I had to cut out a ton of centers today, too. One thing that I learned last year is it's much faster if you put money into a good paper cutter. It still takes time, but makes it a little faster. Glad you got to show off your new clothes :)
I always love your work! :)
Thank you for the great freebie! I'm right there with you on the personal laminator, I love mine! :)

Only you could look fab after brain surgery!
I gasped when I saw that you cut after you laminated. Does it peel? I always cut, laminate, and then cut again. I never thought to do it the other way.
These are fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
I can't believe how quickly ( I am sure it doesn't feel that way to you) it seems you have bounced back from BRAIN surgery. Modern medicine is amazing!
I hope you’re the rest recovery is quick and easy!

Hello cute Amy! I was wondering if you have some wonderful awesome professional printer that you use! Your creations are always so colorful and bright!
Thanks for the freebies! Can you give me information on your laminator? Does it handle up to 7 mil laminating pouches? I'm looking for one...
So glad you got to go out and wear some of your new clothes! Thanks for the freebies!
Oh thank you Amy. I'm in the midst of putting together the Polar Pals packet of activities. Your work is always so cute. I wanted to ask you how you created the glow-effect around your titles. I seem to recall a past post about this, but I wasn't certain that it came from you. If you did post this tutorial earlier, could you let me know? Thanks so much.

I love it!! I am happy things are going well with your surgery. Do you have anything for the 100th day for second grade that can go with the common core? Ours is in two weeks and we have to plan and make sure we can connect them to the common core. Thanks.
Thanks for the great freebie! Glad to hear all is going well for you. I am sure your students miss you.

OMG I would cry me a river if I cut then laminated! Besides cutting twice the feeding all the cut pieces in would make me boo hoo.
Thank you so much for the FREEBIES! You are super! Praying for you as you recover! Question: How cost effective is that laminator?
Thanks!

So glad to hear you are feeling better!
I had to laugh when I saw Erica's post. I also cut first and then laminate because they peel.

Hey Amy, I love your work uplifting attitude toward what we do...teach. I printed the freebie and used it in my class this week. The kiddos found that card C has 66cents on it and not 61 like it's match indicates. It has an extra nickel. Just wanted to let you know. :)
I just saw your blog and started reading it and had to go back to re-read that you just had brain surgery!? Girl....hope you have a quick recovery! Your blog is very cute and I might have to look in to one of those laminators!
Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad your surgery went well and you're getting out a bit.
Thanks for these cute freebies Amy. I love that you are a Texas teacher too - we are always doing the same thing at the same time! Are you in a c-scope district?
You're such a dedicated teacher. Your students are luck to have you as their teacher. Hopefully you'll be able to get out of the house sometime soon. :-)

Darling Little Learners
I am a student teacher from Canada (12 weeks away from full certification!) and am using this literacy center package a little differently with one of my favourite little tutoring clients. Together, we are exploring some basic writing and literacy skills using your fun and hands-on activities. Thanks so much for making and sharing these! Your blog is such an inspiration, all the way up in Vancouver, BC!
Thank you for sharing.

I love all of these activities! Particularly the coin matching and the simple sentence stretcher. I can't wait to use these with my kids! Thanks, Amy!
Hi Amy,
Thanks so much for these freebies! I used "Catching Coins" with my class today and they loved it. We found an error for box C, and wanted to let you know in case you want to fix it. Box C equals 66 cents. Thanks again! I love all of your units!
