Downtime?! Do you even have that in your life?! Well, let's talk about how we can improve the little downtime that we actually have as teachers...
I decided to start my linky for the day like Hope did! Teaching is just one of those jobs that is NEVER finished! Now, I'll be the first to admit that I do NOT stay at school late hardly ever. Often times, you will find me out the door right after the kids... that's just how I roll, haha ;) But, I work LOTS on my computer once I'm home. I would just rather lounge on the couch or in my bed while working :)

So, what are my resolutions for the New Year? Well it's hard to say because I'm hoping my downtime in the New Year will look completely different than years past. I'm hoping that I'll be spending ALL my free-time with my little 3 year old very soon!
Here's what I hope 2013 looks like for me...
Just for the record... my daughter does have a full face, BUT we are just trying to protect her until she is here. I LOVE the picture of her holding that cup. I remember when I first got it I would show it to my friends and say, "I bet your daughter doesn't hold her cup as cute as mine" hahaha {to the friends that don't even have children ;)}! Seriously though, look at that nose, those cheeks, and her lips. I die!
I know that people normally make resolutions to eat healthier and get fit, but I'll just be honest, y'all... I don't really care anymore, ha! Now, I'm sure once summer rolls around, I'll be hitting the gym, but for now, I just want to enjoy the finer things in life :)
I also hope to do the following things:
1. Spend LESS time on the computer
2. Work LESS at home
3. Make the most of my free-time at school {you know... stop gabbing as much ;)}
4. Cook more
5. Read!!!
So, now it's your turn to link up! Tell me what you hope to do with your free time in the New Year!

I just want to stop staying so late at work. It's not odd to find me at work at 7pm. I need to stop doing that! (And make the most of the time I have when I'm there!)

I've gotta get on your program, Amy! I work late at school and then I work late at home, too--since the hubs works overnight! :/ Your baby's 'half face' is so precious...I don't know what we'll all do when we get to see all of it! :) I'm a total cheeks nut too! :) Her cheeks are pretty special! :) Enjoy your holiday! :)

My resolution for the new year is to spend more time taking care of ME! As teachers, most of us are great nurturers....of others, but not so much of ourselves. Time for change! Have a great new year and thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us.

Spend more quality time with the hubby: that does not mean sitting on the same couch, me on my iPad, him watching tv. Instead, actual time with full conversations and mutual activities.

Amy- As always great post! I'm so impressed that most days you leave school when your kiddos do. How do you keep your classroom so organized leaving when they do? It takes me at least an hour to straighten up each night. Getting out of school earlier, is definitely on my New Year's Resolution list. Happy New Year & best wishes for you & your family in 2013!

My resolution is to find more joy in the things that I can't change. In other words, I will work on making the most of things, and not getting frustrated when someone uses the word "alot" on a sign or writes, "there are lots of special's this week." I'm going to try to be happier and help others to be the same.
My goal is to be more organized and to put things away neatly.

No little beauty queen can hold a cup like that! Best of luck to your adorable family in 2013. My goal is to start a blog and trying out TPT as a seller, after a working summer getting ready.
So glad you are feeling better. I have been blog stalking (not really) you for a couple of months because I love your units (I have too many to count). But most of all you have impressed me by your faith and positive attitude. My resolution is to deepen my faith and set aside some purposeful time for it. You have inspired me to do this more. I bet you are getting excited for your little girl to be home...being a mom is the best ever. You never realize how much you can love someone....especially little girls (I have two)...girls are the best! Good luck to you!

Great resolutions! I wish I could resolve to leave work earlier, but with two kids, I actually get more done at school where it is relatively quiet at the end of the day. Once I pick up my girls, it's a whirlwind of activities, homework, dinner, etc! =) Happy New Year!

I love not only your resolutions, but your outlook on life. You continually inspire me. My resolution is to find the time to learn how to interact with blogs and linky parties. This is all new to me and I can never seem to find the time to fumble through and figure out even the simple things.
Thanks!

Love your resolutions! Mine are to spend more time with my family and to get better organized. amandalawson4@gmail.com
I LOVE all your resolutions!! My favorite- Sweet tea and desserts!! :) My resolutions: I want to get better organized. (Get rid of things I no longer use, etc.) I need to exercise more and eat less. Less time at school in the evenings and more time at home with my family.
Your resolutions are great....and inspired mine. I hope to focus less of the "getting it done" and focus more on the process and making it into a memory.
I'm new to this. (Sorry-I forgot to leave my email.)
Maybe I should add technology to my list of resolutions too!

Read my bible every day. Play with my kids more. Laundry- not sure what about laundry but I hate being behind - but with all 5 of us I don't know that I ever will!
Love your blog Amy! I plan to read more, including a daily devotional each morning for my "me time" and becoming more organized which hopefully = less stress! May you be blessed beyond measure in the coming year.
