Spelling Task Cards FREEBIE

I'm trying to simplify my life at school.  Instead of using spelling worksheets all the time, I am going to have my students complete their spelling activities in their ELA spiral.  So, I created 20 spelling task cards that I will print, laminate, cut in half and hole-punch to put on a ring.  That way, the activities will be ready at any given moment.  I will also put the task cards in with their center activities.  You could use these for early finishers {Don't we all love an early-finisher...Mrs. Lemons I'm done what do I do now?!  UMMM, I passed that activity out 1 minute ago, HOW are you already finished?!  Just go sit down please! ;)}

Anyways, you can pick those up for FREE in my TpT shop.  I'm not promising that I'll add any extra activities anytime soon, but if you have more suggestions, you can comment below.  Once again, I can't make any promises!!!  Click on the pictures below to take you there :)

And, you have one more day to shop at the TpT Back to School Sale!  Don't let this sale pass you by!  I'm definitely going shopping today :)

Love it! Thanks for sharing! We do spelling pictures where the kids do the outline of their picture with words instead of drawing. Then after making the picture out of words they color it in. It is a fav every year! Something fun to try if you don't do something similar already!

Thank you for sharing your spelling cards ~ it was very thoughtful of you:) Now that you are getting ready to be a mom you are smart to simplify your teaching life. Life with a little one can sometimes unpredictable and there is nothing worse than realizing you don't have your photocopying done and you have a sick baby at home.
Again, thank you for sharing!

I've been back and forth with what to put in my spelling workshop this year. I wanted something that didn't require much up keep on my part. I've even considered just doing a word work center and ditching the spelling center all together but this just solved the problem :) Thanks Amy!!!!

These would be great to use during Daily 5 Word Work! I had something similar, but definitely not as cute! :) I just posted a freebie Word Study Notebook that focuses on spelling/word study instruction! These are excellent resources! Thanks!

Thanks so much!! These are adorable. I was working on mu Word Work station for Daily5 today...so this will really help!! I saw on another blog, students write their words with pipe cleaners. I found some neon ones at Wal-Mart, so I think I might add that to my list.

Hi Amy,
I agree with all the other comments...you are generous, your work is so cute and I appreciate what you share. I have a little dilemma. When I tried to print these lovely spelling cards, I don't have backgrounds, the clip art pictures appear inside white boxes and they cover the words. I am sure that there is something simple that I am doing incorrectly. I have an iMac and use an ph laser printer. Sometimes I have to change to adobe, but not usually when I do pdf files. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Amy...I'm so excited about this school year. I'm going from teaching public 8th grade science to 1st and 2nd grades self-contained at a private Christian school. I know the Lord has so much in store for me and my sweet baby angels this year. One snag though...a lesson plan template! I need something that is cute (since I'm going to have to be looking at it) AND functional. I need to be able to put all of my topics for the whole week on one page. And then I get to do it all again for 2nd grade. Any chance you have a LP template you could share??? I love, lurve, LUB your TPT page...it is my new obsession and gives me so much inspiration! Thanks so much!

Many blessings,
Emily
