I survived my first day back! My kiddos started addition with regrouping, so I wanted to have a less stressful Language Arts activity for the day- which led me to Cara Carroll (my go to for all things cute and creative, of course!). We made these sweet little New Year's hats with our resolutions. First, I read the book, "The Night Before New Year's by Natasha Wing {maybe a little too simple for 2nd grade, but they loved it nonetheless, plus we learned what the word "resolutions" meant :)} And, our brains were fried from math (hear me trying to justify, haha)!
This is a horrible picture, and I didn't take any up close, but here's the final product:
Check Cara's out because she added party blowers and pom poms which make them even cuter! I'll try and get a better picture tomorrow :)

Those look so cute! I didn't get anything crafty done today to hang in the hallways! So kudos to you! I did see many Kindergarten teachers that had already put these on their doors as well!

I did this today too! Check out my pics!
Your door is too cute! I just stuck mine on a bulletin board, no title, but hey, they're displayed!
I think my maternity sub (who was my intern) will be doing something like this - if not, I am DEFinitely doing this next year!
The Teachers’ Cauldron

Cute! I did these too, with the blowers and pom poms...I just couldn't resist adding a little pizazz! I wish I would have read that book though. We just dove right into resolutions and goals.
Stacee :)
Thanks so much y'all! I wish I had the stinkin' poppers and pom poms, but maybe I'm still be lazy from winter break haha!
Cara- completely understand! I had about 10 kids in my class during recess because they didn't do a thing during class either! Feel your pain, girl!
We did these today, also!!
This is a cute idea. Thank you for the template. I'm a first grade newbie. I have been following many of the blogs in the giveaway for the last three months and I continue to discover even more of your blogs each day...2 more before I saw your giveaway. I have become obsessed. I would love to win this giveaway. It would help me so much as I venture more into teaching first graders. Thanks to all of you for creating and sharing your ideas and for re-energizing me. My kids love it and get excited each week as they get new things to play and create! first.grade.newbie@gmail.com
