Money is always difficult to grasp as a first and second grader... so here are a few of the many things I have done to help make it as hands-on as possible!
For this foldable, you have to cut each flap. In first grade I always prepared the books ahead of time, but I think 2nd graders could definitely handle making them on their own. On the inside, the students describe the coins and write how to make a dollar using the coins on the flap. It is great for coin recognition as well as counting money.

LOVE all of the great activities and resources you share. You really help me out a LOT.
I was wondering if you have a template for the ice cream cone/scoops? Would like to do this with my 2nd graders in recognizing different ways to make a total.
Thanks!
I was wondering the same thing as the lady above. I would love to do the ice cream cone activity with my kiddos!
